Walking through Lungo Dora

Monday April 15 2024 | h 16.00

Torino, Circoscrizione 7, Corso Vercelli 15

The walk aims to explore the complex dynamics of "micro" and "macro" transformations that affect the area along the Dora River between the neighbourhoods of Aurora and Vanchiglia, as well as the relationship between these changes and the river environment.

In the past, the Dora played a pivotal role in the industrial and urban development of these neighbourhoods, contributing to hydrogeological vulnerabilities and environmental degradation. Today, the river and its banks have different characteristics and functionalities in different sections. Our focus will specifically be on the stretch from Ponte Carpanini to Passerella Mellano to observe the current landscape and the level of interaction between the Dora River and the citizens.
