Fenestrelle: the Blue Ray#1
An urban riverside walk through monumental gardens, underground chambers, and water canals in Avellino
Friday June 12, h. 15.00
Avellino. Meeting point: Piazza del Popolo

An urban-riverside walk dedicated to the relationship between water and the city. A path through streams, monumental gardens, underground spaces, and fountains to explore water landscapes, historical memory, and urban regeneration practices through the regional and intermunicipal urban river park of the Fenestrelle, the backbone of Avellino’s Greening Plan as an Urban Nature Plan and Urban Green Infrastructure.
The itinerary includes the Ferriera Bridge, the monumental park of Villa Amendola, the “invisible” river views and the Terra Hill, the surprising emotional rural paths of the Palombi area leading deep into the Fenestrelle, and finally the underground spaces of the Casina del Principe, before following the “unseen” river through the historic heart of the rebuilt city.

NOTES FOR THE FENESTRELLE
Church of Carmine, Piazza del Popolo, 8:30 PM
Jazz concert by Luis Di Gennaro
The Fenestrelle represents the symbolic heart of the city’s future vision: not only as a place, but as a theme. The concert thus becomes a tribute to the city, to its relationship with water, to the spaces that deserve protection, and to the possibility of listening to Avellino through the language of piano and jazz.
The event is promoted by
