Fenestrelle: the Blue Ray#2
Waters in Transit: a journey through vineyards and streams from the Fenestrelle Mills to the traces of San Francesco in Avellino
Saturday June 13, h. 9.00
Avellino. Meeting point: Piazzetta Perugini.

A two-section walk along the Fenestrelle and San Francesco waterways. The first section crosses the more natural landscape of the stream, the agricultural areas of the valley floor, and the ruins of the ancient mills of Macchia and Infornata, continuing to Cappella Baratta and the new Wine Studies Center of the University of Agriculture. The second section focuses on the still-visible traces of the San Francesco watercourse between Poggio Solimene, the ancient center of Valle, and the new city districts developed during the 1980s around and within the riverbed itself, offering an interpretation of the relationship between landscape, memory, and urban transformation. The Fenestrelle and San Francesco river corridors support the proposal to expand the intermunicipal regional River Park of the Fenestrelle, as envisioned in the Greening Plan of Avellino as an Urban Nature and Green Infrastructure Plan.
